We have a great opportunity for someone to join our Manchester team as an Accounts Manager. Within this role you will be part of a fast paced, motivated team, providing financial support locally and liaising with the US HQ team. You should have a strong grasp of SRA Accounts Rules and legal accounting principles, ensuring compliance with SRA Accounts Rules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Legal cashiering and compliance to include recording client and office transactions accurately
  • Financial Management covering VAT returns and reporting
  • Preparing monthly & annual management reports
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable
  • Develop robust financial controls and continuously improve processes
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Potential travel to London office

Qualifications

  • Relevant accounting qualification (AAT, ILFM, or equivalent) is desirable
  • Full knowledge and understanding of the Solicitors Accounts Rules
  • Proven experience in client account management, reconciliations, and month-end closing
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in a similar finance role within a law firm
  • Experience with foreign currency and intercompany transactions
  • Experience as acting as firm’s COFA or advising the COFA on matters of SAR compliance in one or more previous employments
  • Microsoft Office proficiency; intermediate-advanced Excel
  • Proclaim experience is a plus
